Olivier Rousteing recently highlighted that uniquely powerful house heritage built upon the force and liberation of flying off to exotic locales and unknown destinations, with a Paris Fashion Week “Air Balmain” presentation. For the B-Escape frame, Rousteing continues to riff upon that singular breaking-away strand of the Balmain DNA, with a silhouette that is clearly built for speed. The featherweight curved acetate frame’s sporty lines channel daredevil Grand Prix and downhill racers, with the tactile pressed lines adding to the impression of unstoppable forward velocity. Color choices play with Rousteing’s favorite tonal combinations—ranging from the always-present Balmain golden options to sleekly modern Parisian greys and a powerful white frame channeling the ‘70s couture spirit of the latest Paris presentation. Drawing upon the arid tones seen in Rousteing’s beloved Egyptian-themed designs, a special orange B-Escape frame comes in an extremely limited edition of 200 designs.
