The collectionās new Gendarme range of frames also riffs on the Wonder Boy silhouette. āI worked closely with the Akoni design team to create a new type of aviatorāone that is clearly a cousin of the Wonder Boy,ā explains Rousteing. āWe managed to square off the Wonder Boy silhouette, splitting the signature front shield into two lenses that square up the navigatorās traditional teardrop shapes.ā And those lensesā light tints deftly channel the same pastel tones that form a key part of Rousteingās latest runway offerings. The pastels, notes the designer, seem perfectly paired with the Gendarmeās overall feeling of exceptional lightness.
